One Drop of HOPE

アネラメリはミクストメディア・アーティスト。
やさしいテクスチャーと重層的な物語を通じて、象徴的な「希望」を表現している。
彼女の作品にたびたび登場する、天使の羽を持つミツバチ「エルフィ」は、作家自身の投影でもある。
小さくて目立たない存在でありながら、花から花へと飛び、自然の循環を支えるミツバチに、
彼女は“静かな贈り物”のような尊さを見出す。
アートを通じて、そっと誰かの人生や未来に関わる「希望の運び手」になれたら—それがメリの願いである。

 大学卒業後、編集者として創作の旅を始めたメリは、ニューヨークでの仕事を通じてパンチニードル刺繍に出会い、
その温もりある質感に魅了される。以降、刺繍を絵画や物語と融合させ、伝統の枠を超えた、
感情に訴えかける独自の作品を制作するようになった。

 現代社会の厳しさの中にあっても、彼女は人間の本質にある「やさしさ」を信じている。
コンセプト「One Drop of HOPE」は、ほんの小さな親切や、視点の転換さえも、一滴の水のように波紋を広げ、
やがて大河になる—という信念に基づいている。

 短編刺繍アニメーション作品『Smile Evangelist』は、クリーブランドのキノ・ドロームにて第1位、
ベルリン・フラッシュ・フィルム・フェスティバルにて優秀賞を受賞。
刺繍絵本『Miracle Honey – PonoPono』も出版されている。
彼女の作品は、ニューヨーク、ロサンゼルス、ロンドン、ドバイ、東京など、国内外で展示されている。

メリは今も、愛と光に導かれるようにして、「誰もが自由に、やさしく生きられる世界」を願って
一針一針創作し続けている。

　Anela Meli is a mixed-media artist who conveys symbolic hope through gentle textures and layered narratives.
Her recurring motif, the angel-winged bee named Elfy, is a reflection of the artist herself.
Though small and often unnoticed, bees play a vital role in sustaining the natural cycle
as they travel quietly from flower to flower. Meli sees them as a “quiet gift”—a metaphor for her art,
 which aspires to gently touch people’s lives and become a subtle carrier of hope.

　After graduating from university, Meli began her creative journey as an editor.
While working in New York, she discovered punch needle embroidery and was captivated by its warm, tactile appeal.
Since then, she has explored embroidery beyond traditional boundaries,
blending it with painting and storytelling to create emotionally resonant and original works.

　Despite the harshness of modern society, she believes in the inherent kindness of human nature.
Her guiding concept, “One Drop of HOPE,” suggests that even the smallest act of kindness
—or a simple shift in perspective—can ripple outward like a drop of water and eventually grow into a mighty river.

　Her animated short film ‘Smile Evangelist’ won first place at Kino Drome (Cleveland)
and received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Berlin Flash Film Festival.
She has also published an embroidered picture book, ‘Miracle Honey – PonoPono’.
　Her work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, London, Dubai, Tokyo, and more.

　Meli continues to create, stitch by stitch, with a heartfelt wish to build a world
where everyone can live freely and gently—guided by love and light.　
 

作品紹介
◆五光ー平和・繁栄・高貴　
 
花札「五光」の「桐に鳳凰」にインスパイアされて創作した作品。
一年のラストを飾る12月らしく華々しくゴージャスに。

This work was inspired by the “Phoenix and Paulownia” card from the Hanafuda card series “Gokou.”
It is a magnificent and gorgeous work, perfect for decorating the last month of the year.
